One of the questions I get asked most often is how I come up with the names for my bracelets.
The truth is that the names usually come long after the design begins.
The colors, textures, and materials often arrive first. Sometimes I see them in a dream. Sometimes they appear during a morning walk with my dog. Sometimes they show up in the colors of a sunrise, a conversation, or a feeling I can't quite shake.
But once a design starts taking shape, I sit with it.
I ask myself what it reminds me of. What story it is telling. Who it makes me think about.
That's when the name begins to emerge.
The Foundation is a perfect example.
When I found the rose gold spacers that became part of that design, my mind immediately went to my daughter, Kimberly. Rose gold has always been her metal. As a redhead, those warm tones have always looked beautiful on her, and she has always been drawn to pieces that sparkle.
But the bracelet became about more than her favorite color.
As I continued building the piece, I found myself thinking about who she is. Thoughtful. Organized. Compassionate. Strong. The kind of person who quietly takes care of the people around her while still pursuing her own goals and dreams.
The white beads felt right because they reflected the warmth, grace, and steadiness she brings into the world.
I could have simply named the bracelet after her.
Instead, I named it The Foundation.
Because from the moment I held her in my arms, I knew she would become part of the foundation for every decision I made moving forward. She inspired me to become a better version of myself, to lead with stronger values, and to build a life that would show her what was possible.
The Legacy tells a similar story.
Created with amethyst beads inspired by my granddaughter Sophia's February birthstone, it represents something bigger than a beautiful bracelet. It represents what we pass on to the next generation, not just businesses or possessions, but courage, character, resilience, and belief.
When I look at Sophia, I don't just see my granddaughter. I see possibility. I see a young girl who will one day know that she can create, lead, dream, and accomplish anything she chooses.
That's the thing about every piece in the UNCOMMON collection.
The names are never random.
They are reflections of people I love, lessons I've learned, values I believe in, and stories worth carrying with us every day.
Because at UNCOMMON, every bracelet starts with a design.
But it becomes something meaningful when it finds its story.
The next time you browse the collection, look beyond the beads. Every piece has a story. The question is: which story speaks to you?
