How a Bracelet Becomes More Than a Bracelet

How a Bracelet Becomes More Than a Bracelet

Most people probably assume jewelry design starts with a sketchbook, a software program, or a perfectly planned process.

Mine usually starts with a moment.

Sometimes it’s a dream where I see colors, textures, or an entire feeling I can’t shake when I wake up. Sometimes it’s an outfit, a conversation, or a season of life I’m walking through. And sometimes it’s much quieter than that.

The Calm bracelet from the Presence Collection came to me during a sunrise walk with my dog.

The world was still quiet. The sky was layered in soft blues, warm golds, and muted grays as the sun started breaking through the darkness. I remember looking up and thinking about how easy it is to overcomplicate life. To overthink. To carry stress, we were never meant to hold every second of the day.

And in that moment, I felt grounded again.

That feeling became a bracelet.

That’s usually how this works for me. The emotion comes first. The meaning comes first. Then the design follows.

Once I have the vision, I start researching. Not just jewelry itself, but the feeling behind it. I study aesthetics, textures, materials, luxury brands, everyday wear, confidence, energy, and how people carry themselves when they wear certain pieces.

Because details matter.

The spacing between beads matters.
The weight of the bracelet matters.
The finish of the metal matters.
The colors matter.
The feeling matters.

Mass-produced jewelry is made to sell quickly.

Meaning-driven jewelry is made to connect.

That difference matters deeply to me.

One of the clearest examples of that is The Signature bracelet from the Empowered Collection, which officially releases on May 28th, my birthday.

This piece represents something personal for me.

I designed it inspired by elements I’ve always admired in higher-end jewelry brands. Not from a place of imitation, but from a place of realization. Realizing that I, too, am allowed to create something elevated. Something refined. Something meaningful.

As someone who did not grow up with luxury, who has overcome challenges, rebuilt parts of life, and stepped into entirely new seasons over and over again, designing this piece felt symbolic.

A reminder that where you started does not determine what you’re allowed to build.

That’s why I intentionally chose platinum beads instead of something average. Why I searched specifically for a 925-sterling silver heart charm with the exact shape and weight I wanted. Why I paired it with black onyx.

Not because those details are trendy.
Because they tell the story correctly.

At the end of the day, jewelry becomes personal because we choose to carry it daily. The same way we choose what energy we walk into the world with.

That choice should feel intentional.

And maybe that’s what UNCOMMON Jewelry is really about.

Not just creating bracelets.

Creating reminders of who we are becoming.

The Calm from the Presence Collection and The Signature from the Empowered Collection are two of the most personal examples of that journey so far. And honestly? I think they’re only the beginning.
